Our Solidarity Initiatives
At Grant Alexander, our commitment to solidarity is an integral part of our corporate culture, where it takes shape through several concrete initiatives: patronage, volunteering, long-term partnerships, and employee participation in solidarity events.
We offer a hand wherever we can make a difference, with a particular focus on health, social inclusion, and helping people rejoin the workforce, both in France and abroad.
Solidarity patronage: combatting sickle cell disease
Since 2019, we have been a patron of La Maison des Bien-Aimés (LMBA).
This endowment, created in 2018 and chaired by Jeanne-Chantal Bonhomme, aims to combat sickle cell anaemia in Africa and to support ill and abandoned children.
It accepts donations from private individuals, companies, and other organisations and earmarks them for operational associations working in the field to detect and treat the condition and provide support for patients..
A global health issue
Little-known, sickle cell disease is nevertheless the world’s most common genetic disorder
Sickle cell disease – a hereditary disorder that impacts the shape of red blood cells – remains relatively unknown to the general public, but it is the number one genetic condition worldwide. Symptoms include periodic episodes of extreme pain and an increased risk of infection. While current treatments have significantly increased the life expectancy of impacted patients in some countries, like France, they remain largely unavailable in many parts of the world. So research continues to improve them or even treat the disorder at its source: where red blood cells are made.
In Togo, the life expectancy of a person with sickle cell anaemia is only 18. And those who survive often require major interventions and hospitalisation.
Concrete initiatives in the field
Thanks to our support, LMBA is able to have a meaningful impact in several key areas:
Screening and prevention
Purchasing laboratory equipment to improve rates of diagnosis and roll out more screening campaigns in schools.
As part of its partnership with CNRSD, LMBA financed the purchase of equipment in 2023. As a result, the Centre, located in Lomé, is the first site in Togo able to perform red blood cell antibody (RBC) tests to better select the red blood cells suitable for transfusion and lower the risk of the recipient’s immune system attacking them. Since 2025, LMBA has also funded sickle cell screening campaigns in Greater Lomé schools, in partnership with Plus Jamais La Drépanocytose (PJLD). The first campaign, which took place from January to April 2025, aimed to screen 10,000 students, reducing the cost of tests by 70% while reaching the broadest possible audience.
Medical care
Donation of medicine and doctor training funding for Togolese hospitals. Since 2021, LMBA has provided medicine for sickle cell patients in Togolese hospitals. The endowment also funds training so Togolese doctors can earn the International Franco-African Inter-University Diploma in Sickle Cell Anaemia Treatment at the University of Dakar in Senegal.
Support for children
Support for several orphanages, including one which provides workshops to teach children job skills (hair dressing, sewing, computer science, and cosmetology) with guidance from experienced professionals who are also former residents.

Raising awareness in France
In addition to providing logistics and financial support, we also support awareness-raising initiatives in France to teach the public about sickle cell anaemia. We are truly committed to playing an active role in the international solidarity chain to spread the word about this condition, encourage research initiatives, and decrease mortality rates.
Year-round solidarity initiatives
Every year our employees contribute to the greater good by participating in solidarity events, with a particular focus on health, child wellbeing and people with disabilities.

Volunteering
In 2025, we gave our employees the option to spend a paid workday volunteering for a good cause of their choice. Those who so choose can also volunteer on their own time. Our partnership with the Day One platform makes it simple for everyone to select a cause they’re passionate about and to use their skills to benefit the community. This concrete initiative boosts our positive impact while also encouraging individual employees to contribute to the greater good.
Since 2020, we have also partnered with 60 000 rebonds Grand Ouest, an association in western France that helps entrepreneurs recover after their business fails.
The goal is to restore their confidence and help them build a solid, meaningful career plan.
This partnership embodies our commitment to supporting jobseekers and entrepreneurship by showcasing the talents and skills of people who have fallen on hard times to help them move forward.
Combining environmental protection and solidarity
Because believing in solidarity also means protecting our planet, we have rolled out green challenges. Each collective initiative is an opportunity to raise awareness among our teams about green habits and results in a donation to a humanitarian organisation. For example, we held a three-session digital clean-up challenge and sent the resulting donation to Care France to help displaced people in Ukraine.
