Exclusive Study – Leaders’ Concerns for 2023

As a partner in enhancing the performance of organizations and their leaders, the HR consulting and services group Grant Alexander shares the results of an exclusive study aimed at assessing the morale of leaders for 2023.

Concerns strongly linked to the economic and energy crisis context.

The war in Ukraine, and the resulting inflationary crisis, has notable consequences on leaders’ morale. Energy outlooks also contribute to general concern and are expected to have a direct impact on production processes.

More than eight out of ten leaders acknowledge being anxious about energy price developments in 2023 – with nearly half admitting being particularly worried (82%, including 41% strongly agree). In addition to energy issues, pure economic concerns are present: economic recession is also among the major concerns for six out of ten leaders (61%).

Leaders are well aware that the two crises at the end of 2022, energy and economic, will impact their companies and carry over into the 2023 fiscal year. For one in five leaders, these concerns even make them doubt the viability of their company for 2023 (18%).
