Leadership Awards 2017

The Cercle du Leadership annually recognizes two winners through the Leadership Award™ and the Leadership Hope Award™.

The 2017 Leadership Award was presented to Jacques Aschenbroich, Chairman and CEO of Valeo. The automotive equipment company leader, ranked 4th among the world’s top-performing CEOs by Harvard Business Review, stood out against Isabelle Kocher, CEO of ENGIE, Jean-Luc Petithuguenin, CEO-Founder of PAPREC, Alexandre Ricard, CEO of Pernod Ricard, and Jean-Marc Potdevin, Founder of Entourage. When asked about his management style, the leader explained:

“During the early phase of my career, I certainly wanted to show that I could outperform my colleagues. But after several years, I realized that they were more talented than me in their fields. I then specialized in the role of talent incubator.”

The Leadership Hope Award was won by Maud Bailly, CDO and Executive Committee member of AccorHotels. A woman of conviction with an atypical career path, she transitioned from the railway sector to Matignon, from the poetry of train stations to the dynamic energy of hotels, always driven by the same passion. She stood out among Marie Ekeland, co-founder of Daphni, Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 Olympic Organizing Committee, Rand Hindi, founder of Snips, and Brice Rocher, Chairman of Yves Rocher Group. She humbly notes that a digital leader is something else entirely.

Founded and chaired by Philippe Wattier in partnership with Le Figaro Économie, the Cercle du Leadership counts around 200 members across ten partner companies, including major industrial, service, and intellectual service firms.

It provides a platform for reflection and exchange on innovative management practices, uniquely bringing together perspectives from leaders across all company functions.
The members’ work—conferences, debates, and publications—is each year oriented around a specific theme.
