2016: Strong Recovery in the Recruitment Consulting Market

+12.9% — that’s the growth of the French recruitment consulting market in 2016 compared with 2015, as measured by the professional association Syntec Conseil en Recrutement.
This association publishes a monthly barometer of its members’ revenue, an early indicator of executive employment trends in France.
The improvement is striking when compared to the previous four years’ results:
2012/2011: -15%
2013/2012: -16%
2014/2013: +0.3%
2015/2014: +4.4%
The barometer also reports confidence and satisfaction indices among recruitment firm leaders, who are key partners in executive employment across the French economy.
These indicators point to strong optimism in January 2017.
The confidence index for the next three months reached 176, based on a starting reference of 100 set in April 2011. Despite some monthly fluctuations, this index rose sharply over the course of 2016, given that it stood at 80 just a year earlier.
Likewise, recruitment firm leaders are optimistic about their revenue trends, with the satisfaction index climbing to 143 — compared with only 24 a year ago.
