In this article, journalist Antoine Boudet reviews Grant Alexander’s development strategy, focusing in particular on internationalization as well as diversification.

HR: Grant Alexander joins the global InterSearch network The multi-specialist HR services group is joining one of the leading international networks in executive search and HR consulting.

Not content with posting 19% growth for its 2020–2021 fiscal year ending in August, with revenue of €17.1 million, the French HR consulting and services group Grant Alexander intends to build on its momentum, following the rebound effect after the sharp slowdown at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. International expansion will be one of the drivers of its development.

Grant Alexander will be joining InterSearch, one of the leading international networks for executive search and HR consulting, present in over 50 countries. “We were missing a global dimension; this alliance will make the difference,” comments the group’s President, Henri Vidalinc.

Grant Alexander’s internationalization strategy is relatively recent, launched with the opening in March 2021 of its first office on the African continent, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to support French companies operating in French-speaking Africa.

In France, the group has five offices in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, and Toulouse, with around forty consultants. The team was strengthened last year, notably with the arrival of Laurent Carcassonne, who now leads the Life Sciences practice, which will be further reinforced in March with the addition of a consultant specialized in the pharmaceutical and laboratory sector.

Nearly 50% of Grant Alexander’s business comes from companies (mainly mid-sized firms) in the industrial sector. Most are engaged in ambitious transformation programs. According to a survey conducted by OpinionWay for the firm in Q3 last year, 80% of the mid-sized company executives surveyed expressed optimism. “There are many projects underway, companies are investing, adapting, and transforming,” notes Henri Vidalinc, pointing out the significant number of plant manager positions currently open.

In addition to its executive search activity, the group’s historic core business, as well as its interim management and consulting divisions, Grant Alexander added a fourth business line last year: supporting companies in organizational and HR transformation.

“With the acquisition of Role Crafting, which has developed innovative digital tools and collaborative methods, we are seeking to leverage collective intelligence and the team engagement necessary to drive change,” emphasizes Henri Vidalinc.
