{"id":2943,"date":"2020-12-03T15:25:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T14:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grantalexander.com\/en\/?p=2943"},"modified":"2025-08-27T11:52:29","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T09:52:29","slug":"solidarity-sponsorship-news-from-la-maison-des-bien-aimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grantalexander.com\/en\/our-news\/solidarity-sponsorship-news-from-la-maison-des-bien-aimes\/","title":{"rendered":"Solidarity Sponsorship: News from La Maison des Bien Aim\u00e9s"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grant Alexander has been committed for the past two years to the fight against sickle cell disease by supporting <a href=\"https:\/\/lamaisondesbienaimes.org\/\"><strong>La Maison des Bien Aim\u00e9s (LMBA)<\/strong>,<\/a> a charitable endowment fund whose mission is to combat the disease and reduce its mortality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collective efforts have already borne fruit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a summary of the actions taken on the ground, as well as a progress update on major upcoming projects for LMBA, which Grant Alexander has chosen to support again in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grantalexander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Nestorine-et-les-enfants-orphelinat-de-Bassar-600x486.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4596\" style=\"width:259px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Orphanages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the support of all sponsors, LMBA has been assisting two orphanages in Togo for over a year, caring for nearly 80 children. The first, <strong>Maison B\u00e9thanie<\/strong>, is located in Lom\u00e9 in the south of the country; the second, <strong>Saint-Joseph Orphanage<\/strong>, is in Bassar in the central-north region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grantalexander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Centre-m\u00e9dico-social_LMBA_HD-600x451.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4602\" style=\"width:289px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Medical-Social Center<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project to build a clinic for care and sickle cell detection is progressing. Preliminary architectural studies have been completed. Located in <strong>Kpalada<\/strong>, in the Sokod\u00e9 province, an area particularly underserved in healthcare, the clinic will include 14 hospital beds and a specialized consultation center. The cornerstone is scheduled to be laid by the end of 2020, health situation permitting, with the dispensary opening expected in the first half of 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grantalexander.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Godwill-orphelinat-de-Bassar-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4689\" style=\"width:297px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Healthcare Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While waiting for the clinic, LMBA provides care to children suffering from sickle cell disease.
