Beyond convictions: concrete action

At Grant Alexander, a commitment to responsible action is what drives us. Because we are fully devoted to the companies and executives we work with – and to all our stakeholders – we have anchored our business in a social and ethical approach recognised by global business sustainability ratings platform EcoVadis.

Learn more about our CSR policy An active member of Syntec Conseil

With nearly 250 members, the Syntec Conseil trade association covers all facets of the consulting services sector. It fosters communication between members and oversees the development of the sector’s different professions. It plays an active role in shaping the industry, underpinned by commissions made up of volunteer representatives.

Grant Alexander has been a particularly active member of Syntec Conseil since 1992, regularly contributing to its initiatives, especially when it comes to the social and ethical impact of our professions.

Grant Alexander founder François Humblot, now a partner at Grant Alexander, served as a Syntec Conseil administrator for the Recruitment branch from 1992 to 2016 and as Chairman from 1996 to 2001.

In the 1990s, Grant Alexander helped to create a recruitment ethics charter which, following a series of revisions, became the Responsible Recruitment Charter (French version) in 2014. In 2007, we signed a list of “discrimination-free recruitment” principles initiated by France’s anti-discrimination authority (HALDE at the time; now Défenseur des Droits). Our teams receive anti-discrimination training every five years.

We also adhere to the Career Planning Consulting Code of Ethics (French version), Coaching Charter (French version) and Outplacement Charter (French version).

The Grant Alexander group also participates in several commissions, where it plays its part in developing best practices for a wide range of consulting professions

This commission defends members’ collective interests by representing them in discussions with the authorities. It also ensures that recruitment processes respect candidates’ fundamental rights and aims to spread best practices throughout the sector, primarily via the Responsible Recruitment Charter, awareness-raising campaigns on the impact of new digital tools, and the promotion of diversity. Fostering communication between members, encouraging community and open discussion, is also one of its priorities.

This commission oversees the development of the coaching sector and compliance with regulations. Its Coaching Charter guarantees ethical coaching practices. It aims to cultivate transparency in the sector, in particular by rolling out an accreditation programme for coaches to ensure candidates have the necessary hard and soft skills to become professional coaches. The commission is also lobbying France Compétences to officially recognise coaching as a profession by updating the National Register of Professional Certifications (RNCP). Last but not least, it represents the sector in dealings with larger trade associations such as the ICF and EMCC.

This commission aims to structure and oversee the outplacement sector by outlining a clear code of ethics in the Outplacement Charter. It keeps track of changes to the profession through monthly and annual barometers based on key indicators and strives to promote the benefits of outplacement to a wide range of stakeholders.

This commission aims to incorporate social and environmental considerations into Syntec Conseil members’ daily practices. It supports member consultancies as they ramp up and structure their CSR strategies and helps client companies to better understand and anticipate changes in the field. Ultimately, its goal is to anchor all of the association’s initiatives in a deep commitment to CSR

In 2024 Grant Alexander – Executive Interim joined France Transition: a national trade association for the interim management sector. This decision reflects our commitment to playing an active role in shaping the future of the sector and contributing to the continuous improvement of industry practices.

As a member, we are committed to respecting a strict code of ethics to ensure our practices are nothing short of exemplary on all our assignments.
